This policy explains how you (the "Guest") may cancel or amend a villa booking made through Lefkada Travel and on what terms any money paid will be refunded. It applies to all weekly and short-term holiday rentals in our managed portfolio in southern Lefkada.
By confirming a booking, you accept the terms set out below.
Short-term holiday accommodation is exempt from the 14-day "cooling-off" withdrawal right that applies to most distance contracts, under Article 16(l) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU (transposed into Greek law via Law 2251/1994). Your cancellation rights are therefore governed entirely by the tiered schedule below.
Charges are calculated as a percentage of the total rental price stated in your Booking Confirmation, based on how far in advance of your arrival date we receive your written cancellation:
If the balance has not yet been paid at the point of cancellation, any amount owing under the schedule above remains payable.
To cancel or request a change to your booking, send written notice by email to info@lefkada-travel.com or call our Sivota office during business hours. Your cancellation takes effect on the date and time we receive your written notice — this is the date used to determine the applicable charge.
We will always try to accommodate a change of dates within the same villa and season, subject to availability. Where a requested change cannot be met, the standard cancellation schedule applies. Date changes that move a booking outside the original season may be treated as a new booking.
In the rare event that we must cancel your booking — for example, due to circumstances making the villa unavailable or unsafe — we will offer you, at your choice, either a comparable alternative villa for the same dates or a full refund of all sums paid. Our liability is limited to the amounts you have paid to us for the rental.
Neither party is liable for failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, fire, government action, or travel restrictions. Where a force majeure event prevents your stay, we will work with you in good faith on a date change or partial refund where the owner's terms allow.
We strongly recommend that all guests take out comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, curtailment, medical expenses, and personal liability for the full duration of your stay.
Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 14 working days of confirmation.
